Let’s talk new music in the dawn of 2025.
2024: The year of Oasis’ comeback announcement, Gary going missing, Brat summer and of course some new artists curving the music scene ready for 2025.
Here are some hand-picked artists guaranteed to rock your headphones all year round.
Starting off strong with some Manchester bands that have curated their own sounds- blasting out banger after (dare I say) banger throughout 2024.
These bands I can promise you will have not heard the last of this year.
ROLLA

After Rolla’s iconic Salford Lads Club gig, where the band raised hundreds all in support of the iconic club, there was a massive buzz about the band across all platforms, even appearing on ITV news discussing this.
Their electric unique sound has been compared to that of Manchester’s finest Liam Gallagher and it is clear to see why.
Their song ‘We Owe You Nothing’ is an ode to their unique heavy guitar sound filled with hard hitting guitar riffs and strong vocals. With songs like this under their belt it is hard to imagine that 2025 will not be filled with this same
The band have their biggest gig yet coming up on the 3rd of May and I am sure the band will go from strength to strength this year.

Corella

Manchester 4 piece Corella have gone from strength to strength throughout 2024- playing at the main stages of many festivals including Kendal Calling. They aren’t done yet and will be sure to propel themselves even further into the limelight in 2025.
After releasing their newest EP ‘Live from New Century’ in October last year, it is clear there is more to come from these guys. Despite only having 3 songs, the EP takes you on an emotional rollercoaster – which is quite hard to do on a single release!
These guys deserve way more credit, especially with their live performances- one to watch in 2025.
Arkayla

With the release of Arkalya’s classic EP ‘Ella Malone’ last year, this band are sure to be creating even more great anthems this year.
The indie four piece have their own sound, perfectly encapsulated in their song ‘Rita’.
It is definitley worth watching Arkayla as they are sure to blow up soon.

Moving on to some more artists now, each with their own individual sounds-
The North

This band saw a new flood of recognition after sharing their song ‘Soundtrack your soul’ on social media site TikTok, and it is clear to see why.
The band have also recently shared videos promoting their newest single ‘Blood Orange’ which is set for release soon.
The indie 3 piece finished a set of tours late last year, visiting places such as Manchester and their home city Leeds.
With the promise of new music soon to come, be sure to hop on this band wagon before the band blow up!
Their curated gritty sound is exactly what 2025 needs; a new generation of casual indie rock.
Overpass

While supporting iconic indie staple Sundara Karma late last year, it was clear to see just how many people loved their music.
After seeing this band perform in both Manchester and Liverpool it is for certain that this band know exactly how to hype up a crowd. Their songs ‘3AM’ and ‘Like No Other’ had a whole group of fans cheering.
The recent release of the bands EP ‘Take it or leave it’, released on January 15, perfectly encapsulates their gritty indie sound and you will be sure to love them even after one listen.
The bands new EP is being released later next month and I am sure more great music will be following later this year.

Who didn’t love their Brat summer? Well it certainly is not over yet, with these next set of hyperpop girlies powering that same sound this year- ready to make you strut in style these next few months.
Maisi

With the release of her album ‘GIRL!!’ last year, Maisi propelled herself as hyperpop royalty to another level.
Songs such as ‘My Type’ and ‘So Shy’ echo that same ‘Brat’ feel whilst also encorperating Maisi’s own unique tone and tempo. Maisi really has a skill for harvesting new sounds and trends served up alongside her perfectly harmonized voice.

Lozeak

Another classic pop girly! Lozeak has managed to cultivate her own sound, similar to Kim Petras and Charli XCX.
In November last year Loz released her EP ‘Sex on Video’, which has amassed over 100 thousand streams since its release.
For fans of camp hyper pop – Lozeak is for you!

Rizzle Kicks

Classic hip hop pop duo Rizzle Kicks are back again this year with headline shows and festival appearences.
Announcing their comeback on social media, the group gained an insane amount of praise, with over 1.1million views on this video alone:
Even though these guys have been in the scene for a decade, their new sound is sure to stand out from their previous works.
The two piece’s anticipated return has been almost perfectly executed with the release of their EP ‘Vice’.
Their new album ‘Loser’ is set for release Feburary 15 and it is sure to bring the summer vibes early- helping you beat those winter blues.
Notion

Coming into 2025, DJ Notion propelled himself into the scene with his remix of ‘The Days’, which has over 49 million streams on Spotify.
The song went viral on TikTok and following his hit album ‘FORWARDS’ it is clear 2025 will bring more great things for this DJ.
His unique sound of up tempo beats and euphoric synths will be sure to keep you dancing all year round.
There is definitely more to come for Notion.
Javaid Flannery

In 2024 Tech House DJ and producer Javaid Flannery has had a year of new leaps and bounds and there is certainly no stopping him in 2025.
If this kind of music is for you, definitely give Javaid a listen.
With the release of his song “All I wanna do” alongside fellow DJ J-RoW, there is certainly more to come for him.
As well as DJing he is set to create some new events in the future alongside his events company ‘R3verse Events’.
